BEAUTIFUL KELIMUTU, INDONESIA
Kelimutu is
a volcano that is close to the small town of Moni about 50 km to the east of
Ende, Indonesia. The three lakes have a different name and local people believe
that the lake are spiritual resting place of ancestors. Futhermore, they said
the colour of the lake change according to the modd of the ancestors. From this
lake, the visitors can see wreathes of steam rise from the surface of the lake.
The volcano
contains three striking summit crater lake of varying colours:
- · Tiwu Ata Mbupu (lake of people) is usually blue.
- · Tiwu Nuwa Muri Koo Fai (lake of young men and maidens) is usually green colour.
- · Tiwu Ata Polo (bewitched or enchanted lake) is usually blood red colour.
The reason
why is Kelimutu are special because the three lakes have different colour but
in the same volcano.
There is
available accomondation near a Kalimutu but it takes about 3 hours to go there.

Flores.
